Kamp Konocti

Girls Going Into 7-9 grades

Choose from 3 great programs:

Camping and Paddle Adventure

Rough and Tough

Girls Ready for Rifle (open to girls 12 and older)

As an older Girl Scout part of your adventure takes place off site.  You'll have a few days of Free Program (archery, rifle, arts/crafts, outdoor cooking), but most of your time will be spent exploring your IP.

Camping and Paddle Adventure

Join us for a fun-filled adventure where the redwoods, river and ocean meet. Our experience while in camp will prepare us for our overnight offsite where we will camp in tents, prepare our own food and enjoy the night sky. We will explore Big River in outrigger canoes.  This river spills into the ocean and teems with marine and freshwater life. We will also visit Glass Beach & Fort Bragg.  An in-camp service project will be included in the program to give back to a camp that has given us so much over the years.  Girls will earn the "Camping" IP while we connect with past and future friends.

Rough and Tough

Get strong and confident as you learn some new skills.  You will strengthen your mind and body. As we kayak, hike and learn martial arts. We will also have a beach work out, GI Jane style and then relax afterwards by shopping in Mendocino.  We will work on team building exercises, nutrition, and stress reduction for an overall self improvement as well as having fun and earning the Women’s Health IP.

Girls Ready for Rifle
Open to girls 12 and older

Are you ready to learn about the sport of shooting?  We'll teach you everything you need to know to safely and accurately use a .22 caliber rifle!  You'll shoot real rifles with real ammunition and gain confidence in yourself while doing it.
Join us for a week of fun activities and safe shooting.  You'll have time on the firing range and in camp to learn the parts of the firearm, how the firearm functions, and loading/unloading procedures.  We'll teach you about ammunition and how to successfully aim and shoot from different positions.  We'll also show you how to clean and properly take care of a firearm.
Our number one concern is SAFETY!  There are basic rules we'll teach you that make this one of the safest sports around.  When you're done with this week, you'll have the knowledge to become a responsible firearms owner.
Every participant will take home a handbook on The Basics of Rifle Shooting, pamphlets on Gun Safety Rules and NRA Basic Firearm Training Programs, and a booklet for the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program.  By the end of the week, you will also have earned a certificate for successful completion of the NRA's First Steps Rifle Orientation, a Rifle Qualification patch, and a Basic Practical rocker patch to go with it.
Your main instructors, Husqvarna and Poppy, are NRA Certified in Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun, and are Range Safety Officers.  We love to teach firearms courses, and have enjoyed watching many students, ages 8 to 80, learn a sport the whole family can do together.

Camp Fee: $325, $50 non-refundable deposit required to register.
